Easypaisa Payment Scam Alert: How “Ghufran” Took Rs. 20,054 for Work He Never Did

This is a real case from June 2026, fully documented in our records. We are publishing it because the individual involved refused, in writing, to return money that was paid for work he never completed. The payment method and behavior used in this case closely resemble scams that many people encounter across Pakistan.

Who Was Involved?

The individual identified himself as Ghufran. His WhatsApp Business account was listed as “Ghufran Icopify PayPal”, using the phone number:

When payment was requested, he stated that his own bank account could not receive funds. Instead, he instructed that the money be transferred to an Easypaisa account registered under another person’s name:

Using third-party digital wallet accounts instead of personal bank accounts makes it more difficult to trace transactions when disputes arise.

What Happened?

Ghufran claimed he could provide an online publishing service for a foreign client and quoted a price for the work.

On 9 June 2026, the foreign client paid in full through PayPal.
On 10 June 2026, Jahanzaib transferred Rs. 20,054 from his bank account to the Easypaisa account provided by Ghufran.
After receiving the payment, Ghufran confirmed receipt by replying:

“ok bro thanks”

After the payment was received, no service was delivered. Days turned into weeks without updates or completion of the agreed work.

On 27 June 2026, the foreign client filed a formal complaint because the promised service had still not been delivered. As a result, the client had to be refunded from our own funds.

When Ghufran was contacted on 28 June 2026, he admitted in writing that the service had not been provided, stating:

“nahi yr service nahi di os ko”

He initially blamed another person and later claimed he would resolve the issue. Our bank details were provided so that the money could be returned.

However, on 29 June 2026, Ghufran replied:

“nahi payment nahi karsaktha ma”

Despite repeated follow-up messages and voice notes over the following weeks, no refund was made. The only response received afterward was:

“Karengyy”

The promised repayment never happened.
